Company Profile

    Commonwealth Tool Specialty, Inc. is a specialty cutting tool distributor with corporate headquarters located in Roanoke, Virginia.  CTS was founded June 1, 1981, by Edward Staley on the premise that a distributor with up to date technical expertise could service high volume manufacturing facilities and would fit a much needed niche in the cutting tool market.

    In 1984, CTS purchased two acres in the Roanoke County Southwest Industrial Park.  The following year, we built the 5500 square foot brick facility we currently occupy.

    Commonwealth Tool currently services territories throughout Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, West Virginia, Tennessee and parts of Maryland.  Since its inception, CTS has continuously grown and expanded its coverage.  CTS' growth is closely monitored and controlled to ensure superior customer service now and in the future.
